Who We Are

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is the region’s leading association of broadcasters, connecting more than 200 members across 66 countries. Since its founding in 1964, ABU has been at the forefront of broadcasting development, promoting innovation, collaboration, and excellence across television, radio, and digital media.

ABU organises major regional events such as the Digital Broadcasting Symposium, Global News Forum, and Sports Media Conference, bringing together key players in media and technology from across Asia-Pacific and beyond.

In 2025, ABU will launch the first-ever ABU AI Forum, co-hosted by the Radio and Television of the People’s Republic of China (RTPRC). The event will take place in Beijing, China, alongside the prestigious Beijing International Radio, Film and Television Exhibition (BIRTV) — creating a powerful platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and global industry dialogue.
